About Audubon Community Garden

Identifying a Need

As Girl Scout Cadettes, we are dedicated to a growing a greener, more connected school community at Audubon Elementary.  Through the creation of a new raised-bed school garden, we aim to restore a space for learning, curiosity, and hands-on discovery that was lost during recent campus upgrades, as well as foster a lifelong love of gardening .

Our Mission

Our mission is to create a sustainable garden at Audubon Elementary School in Foster City, California that serves all 500 students-from transitional kindergarten through 5th grade-by providing enriching science based lessons and activities for teachers, mentoring 5th grade leaders to run a student-led gardening club and establishing a seed bank for the school community. Together, we are planting the seeds for future learning, leadership, and environmental stewardship.

Who we are

About Us

Project Team(L-R): Olivia Wallace, Victoria Barrientos, Aashi Panagrahi, and Mackenzie Lew.

We are Cadettes in Foster City Girl Scout Troop 61742.  We are collaborating to earn our Girl Scout Silver Award. The Silver Award is highest honor a Girl Scout Cadette can earn.  It recognizes leadership, dedication, and the completion of a sustainable project that makes a lasting impact on the community. Earning it involves identifying an issue,  planning and leading a solution, and committing at least 50 hours each to the project. It's a chance for Cadettes to show initiative, creativity, and the power of making a change.
